Thinking of…

Posted in Travel 2 Comments

One of my favourite memories of summer that I spent a couple of years ago in Vancouver, Canada.

I thought about it today randomly when I found these old prints again.

Nobody was there but us. Just the wild nature and good friends.

The sun was hot. The water was gentle.

Only the waves were heard in the darkness of the night.

Endless summer, I think I miss you.

These photos are from one of the nicest summer days I had this year. At Cat Lake, Squamish, British Colombia, we were with good friends, good food, and lots of sunshine.

Some were talking about their crochet, taking pictures, or making some grilled corns. Feeling completely free. I liked the long white ribbon tape that my friend put up between the trees. The wind was blowing, and it looked beautiful.

Skagit Mission (Part 3)

Day 2. More food and more fishing…

We stopped at one little sopt on our way home after camping. You can buy locally grown corn in Chilliwack, British Columbia. The corn is picked fresh and delivered directly from the fields to their convenient drive-thru stands daily. How cute is that?

Skagit Mission (Part 1)

I just came back from an amazing camping trip on the weekend. My friends organized a fishing/camping trip to Skagit Valley Provincial Park (2 – 3 hour drive from Vancouver BC) and I was lucky to join them on the weekend. We camped at a place called “Silver Tip Campground”, and it was so gorgeous!

(The wide glaciated Skagit Valley, surrounded by impressive mountain peaks, dense forests and rushing mountain streams, is located southeast of Hope, near the american border.)

Our camping trip made the summer extra special for me. My friends are the real campers. They know how to enjoy the wild nature and appreciate good life. We had lots of great food and endlessly peaceful time to relax.  I tried fly fishing for the first time, and I loved it. I know why people are so attracted to it. Watching my friends catching fish in the river was pretty exciting.  I was just practicing casting by the fresh water for a little while, which I found very calming and meditating.

The sun was strong and hot. I left my socks and shoes behind me, and stepped in the clear water. It was soft and cold.

The fishing lines were flying in the air gently. I was listening to the river and breeze.

There was absolutely nothing to think about.
